St. Charbel

About 25 years ago St. Charbel (or Sharbel) Makhlouf of the Maronite Rite in Lebanon found me.

I came across his statue and had an overwhelming desire to purchase the statue even though I never heard nor new anything about St. Sharbel.

Before I knew it, I was coordinating and hosting a St Sharbel prayer group in my home. Then as everything else some family matters arose, and I had to stop.

Although I have his statue in my living room, I must admit I forgot about him. As I was looking for a video on Explaining the Faith by Fr. Chris Alar I came across his video on St Sharbel. Of all the saints and after all these years the Lord put him in my path again.

St Sharbel:

“Total sacrifice of self, giving up the pleasures of this world. Embed yourself, to the Spirit of truth and happiness. It is a just cause to love souls as thy self. The self however must be purified meaning giving up thy self of worldly deeds and needs.

Burn you desires and live for Jesus your Lord and Master. Do not go beyond necessity. Run your house as if Jesus is the master and please him.”

“Patience my love, patience with love will conquer all.”
